Hey all I just got a 99 Civic Ex and i was hoping for an SI but my parents decided to get me this and i am still very pleased. I was just wondering what would be some things you guys would suggest that i could do to get my cars performance up so i could hang with SI's/GSR's... That's all i really want i don't want to make it super fast...if you guys could suggest some things i'd be very grateful...thanks

nitrous, turbo, swap..... my only suggestions. i dun know much about the d16's

 

yes i plan to get AEM cai, custom 2.25 inch piping w/ a tip yet to be decided and a dc stainless steel header but any other suggestions? i would like to stay away from f/i and nitrous...thanks

 

Some light weight rims and tires would help.
Shocks and springs would help you corner faster!
There are plenty of cams available for your car.
I hear Zex cams pop up all the time.
That and a vafc and you'd be getting closer.
(maybe a cam gear?...)

 

Depending on your budget. Basic bolt-ons h/i/e, shocks, springs, strut bars, etc. You can opt for a swap such as GSR or Type R then you can do more mods to yield better performance such as intake manifold, pistons, rods, cams, cam gears, throttle body, Ignition, lighter flywheel, clutch, pulleys, FPR, V-AFC, etc. Whatever you do don't rice out your car.
