Default Steering Dampers

Aside from the Scotts one, that I've had on my gsxr is there any other brand that is favorable?
I know Scotts is made by Ohlin, but what about that long horizontal ohlins damper?

they all pretty much do the same, though i've heard that the piston-type don't handle crashes nearly as good as the rotatory type.
