Default jdm b16a1 q's, and opinions

im geting a b16 soon, i've saved up all the money, i just have a few quesions

i found a local engine dealer in my area, theey want 1500 for the motor tranny and ecu. I will be building my own axles or if i get lazy, ordereing them from raxles.com, and buying the wiring harness, linkage, and mounts from hasport and all the other little bits and pieces from other stores.

does 1500 sound ok? I know i can get them cheaper online, but my stock motor is goin out and i have to leave for college soon so i cant wait that long. also if something goes wrong w. the motor the shop is right here.

give me your opinions on what im planin thanks

$1500 is a bit high, but at least you know the sellers and where it is coming from in part. i would consider guiseppe's deal on all mounts and shift linkage for $400. pick up his axles too, save some time and money, the parts are used, but you know they are the right ones. you don't need to buy any wiring harnesses because the wiring seems quite simple. honestly, it sounds like for about 2 grand you will be up and running pretty soon.

thanks for the support i have the axles too and the motor and tranny
i havent posted because i thought others wouldnt pay to get things shipped..
but i might as well give a quote on my B16a motor(210 compression on all 4)/S1 tranny (no grinds) S1 intermediate shaft and the 90-93 teg axles with literally 1000 miles on them.....

if youre interested in the complete swap, hit me inthe IM
we can work out a better deal than u were quoted...

1500 for the swap is a little high, but more and more swaps are sold so the price increases. I don't think it's a bad idea to buy from a local dealer at all, no shipping, and if you have problems you know where to find them. I also like the fact that you can look at the motor before you buy. That is huge. Make sure to bring a 10 mil and a 19 mil, one to crank over the motor and the other to check under the valve cover. This tells you alot about the motor.

Don't buy the harness from hasport. All you need is five wires. four go to sensors and one is a ground. easy as pie.

On a side note, I was able to inspect the motor that I bought and I got brand new axels (teg) with mine for 1300.00

I have some JDM PR3 and PWO, DOHC VTEC ecu's in stock if the buyer is looking for one. "MT" manual tranny model of course. I do have one or two "AUTO" PR3 ecu's that I will sell for less if interested.
