ok, so i usually am working on my R, the accord is very reliable. however i have had to replace the alternator 2 times in the last 2 years. this seems a bit more than normal.
also as soon as i got the alternator on saturday the power steering pump starting sounding like ****? my wife normally drives the car and said it had been making noise, but it went from a small sound to a very bad one and it obviously needs replacing too.
my question is: have you other V6 owners had any similar expieriences with these? i was always worried about the tranny, hahaha, its solid.
the car did just click over 130K so im thinking its normal maintenance, but advice is appreciated.

extend your wires by 4" and install an 130amp oddessy alt (V6 model)
or
install the alt from the 7th gen V6 accord or a TL/CL.
6th gen accords use a DELPHI alt and those things rarely last 100K I had to replace mine at 96K.........

its a common problem for those altnators to go.
you can try and replace the ps fluid and see what happens. go hit upt he honda dealer and pick up 2 bottles.
see if it help if not you will need a new pump.

i assumed it must be a common problem. i did buy a new honda one from the stealership. hopefully it will last for a while, (doubt it)
as far as the PS pump, it sounds like its grinding really bad, added fluid and still no love.

my knuckles couldnt agree with you more. other than the timing belt cover bolts, those are really a beotch.
as far as the odyssey battery, just more amps and different manufacture?
