h22 auto vs f23 auto transmissions?
My brother in laws 99 accord auto tranny is going out, i have a space jdm h22 auto tranny and i was wondering if they would fit? they look a like.
yes it will fit, but the gear ratios are different. he will be able to accelerate faster but loose top speed. he will also sit at a higher rpm on the highway
yeah i know that from owning a prelude, i hate driving it on freeway, takes so much gas, and to work its only freeway for me 80miles a day just for work and back. i just hope the plugs and connectors will fit so i wont be with extra left over, ill fill him in on info about higher RPM's and his gas millege

whats a TCU?
whats a TCU?
transmission control unit, the equivalent of an ECU that controls auto transmissions. I'm not sure if they were using them in '99, does your H tranny have and loose plugs on it?
not trying to take your thread further off topic but why not use a B or D series tranny with suitable adapter plate? Would be a lot easier to install, wouldn't have to cut the chassis to install the shifter and cables. Unless you want the gearing of the H series over that of the B series.
yeah it bolts right up, but I'm not sure if it will shift. 98 - 02 accords have the TCU integrated as part of the ECU. it's just an extra plug that isn't on the 5spd ECU. I think, not sure, that your h22 has a separate TCU to shift the tranny. I have no idea how that would work. I doubt that you would be lucky enough that the electronics would be plug and play, but I'm just speculating. Mechanically, your golden though.
