Default My first time at strip with my R.

Hey everyone. I just got back from Quaker City raceway where I got a chance to run my ITR for the first time and let me say that I'm VERY happy w/ my results. The only mod that I have is an AEM CAI. Had the front tire PSI at 25 w/ the rear at 40. Totally stock interior, about a half tank of gas. Out of my 4 runs I got in, the times ranged from a 15.28 @90.18 mph (my worst) to a 14.83 @92.59 mph (my best). I still feel that there is definately a 14.7 in her, maybe a 14.6 w/ the right conditions/launch the way it is right now. Here's my numbers from my best run:

R/T: .590
60': 2.292
330: 6.297
1/8: 9.588
MPH: 74.75
1000: 12.342
1/4: 14.83
MPH: 92.59

Would you say that these times are good/bad/average for a virtually stock ITR? I feel that if I can get my 60' down to about a 2.23-2.25 that the 14.6-.7 will be there. Practice makes perfect I guess. We'll see though. I'll be sure to keep everyone informed.

Yeah good times, I'm doing 14.9 @ 95mph. I'm just a crappy driver, I can't break a 2.4 60' time at Fontana. Damn track is slippery as hell though.

Kinda low MPH (92) ive seen stock ITRs run as high as 97, but a 14.8 isnt bad for your 1st time out. Just keep practicing!

Yea, I was wondering that too about the traps. Any reason why they could be so low? Thanks for the good comments everyone. You guys rule!

not bad at all... considering it's your first time @ the track...

i had this for my very time at the strip w/ my R:
________
R/T 0.449
60' 2.372
330 6.320
1/8 9.562
MPH 76.59
1000 12.333
1/4 14.682
MPH 94.70

and it only had an AEM CAI too (full interior 1/2 tank gas) - pretty much the same setup as you.

best time with my car (with the same setup) so far is this:
_________
R/T 0.722
60' 2.372
330 6.209
1/8 9.403
MPH 77.02
1000 12.152
1/4 14.499
MPH 95.82

for your first time out that is very impressive! With a little practice, and the right conditions, I see no problem with you hitting ~14.6... Great job!

Man, I feel like im a driver from hell w/ my times.....

When I ran my car my best run was a 15.0 @94 mph. this was w/ a AEM CAI, DC JDM 4-1 and carsound cat. I had horrible 60' times, i think thats what is keeping me behind. I need to go practice some more.

What were your 60' times exactly? On my best run, it was a 2.292, while on my worst run, it was a 2.383. It's amazing how a difference of .091 in the 60' can affect your E/T by .45!

it took me a good year or so in practice to get down the launch with my r. those times are sooo much better than my first time. it took me 2 times at the track to break in the 14's. just work on the 60 ft time and the time will drop. oh and do some weight reduction. that can drop a couple more tenths.

It's all about the launch. I got a 0-60mph in 6 secs. one time that was really good, but I launched at around 6000rpm's.
