Default freshly painted

My car got painted just over a week ago and I had a couple questions with regards on how to properly take care of it.

I searched and read that you are not suppose to apply any wax for at least 2-3 months.

Question:

1.) Is it ok to apply compound and polish onto new paint? or should I wait a little while?

What you've read is correct, around 60 days is what I recommend, no need to wax before then. As long as the compound/polish is bodyshop safe for fresh paint, its all good. I use 3m products and sometimes buff/polish quick spot repairs 20 min after the bake cycle.

I noticed after I buffed and polished, it looks like there is leftover residue(looks like polish/compund is still on the car) from either the compound or polish.

What should I use to remove this as it looks like I forgot to wipe down parts of my car.

Any info would be great. Thanks
