Re: What to do after new paint job
I got my car painted a little over a month ago, ive been washing it twice weekly for the whole month with meguiars gold glass shampoo, and a microfiber mit. No problems here, bugs were sticking to the front end so bad with no sealant/wax on it, so i had keep it as clean as possible. After about 45-60 days you're free to treat it as a normal with waxing/sealing etc..

Re: What to do after new paint job
Kool thanks!
I just didn't know when to actually wash the car with soap, because i hear that you have to wait a full month for the paint to cure so you can wash it with car soap. or it will damage the paint
But the whole month i rinsed the car 4-5 times.

Re: What to do after new paint job
In those 30 days before you can start using other products. At my job we recommend using a mild soap to wash the car like dish soap and what not. After those 30 days you can continue with normal car washing and waxing. I clay barred like two weeks after it got painted and it came out soooo smooth. And within the next few weeks im going to be waxing it.

Re: What to do after new paint job
Hey guys,
I was wondering, just got my car re-painted - trunk, rear bumber, hood, and front bumber with DuPont paint. The painting was done 2 days ago and I plan to leave for the beach in 2 more days. Do you think it is safe to take my car to the beach with the new paint job or do you think it will do something to the paint with the salt air, etc?
Thanks,
'Zete

Re: What to do after new paint job
Hey guys,
I am new to this site. Was just reading the comments, but got no specific answer on how to wash a newly painted car. It's been a week since my Honda Civic hatch back has been painted, but want to know if I can wash it with soap (what kind) now and should I wait at least 30 days to buff and then before I can wax and polish?
Thanks
Honda Chica
