im sorry about my never ending oil topic : ) but i have been hearing alot of **** talk about mobil 1 in particular (the oil i planned on getting).
I was thinking about getting a fully synthetic but many people say its a waste, unless i plan on doing extended oil drain intervals. Which i dont. i plan to switch every 3-4 k miles.

So what have you guys been using? and do you like it? is there alot of engine noise from using that oil?

whats the extra 14 bucks per oil change? to me, mobil 1 is worth it.

 

Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 5W-30. Trust me....it makes a difference in the long run.

 

i too use mobile1 for my r18.

Do you guys use regular mobil 1 synthetic or the extended performance one?
well ever since they had teir lawsuit with Castrol their oil are group 3 synthetics "hydrocracked" and arnt as good as before. Also Mobil 1 oils give you a noisy valvetrain..
many people agreed on this and so do it. Upon changing to other oil's the valvetrain noise was much quieter and smoother idle.

Many people really like Penzoil Platinum because its good, and has a good price tag to it.
So im thinking of getting Penzoil now.

Why are you so worried about your oil when you say you hardly drive your car and say you are planning to put it away for the winter?

 

i use mobil 1 cause its $5 a bottle lol

 

Mobil 1, $22 for 5 qts...you can't beat that. 5500-7000 mile OCI, using the oil indicator.

 

castrol semi-syn .. every roughly 3500 miles .. i don't use the oil indicator .. i'm old school ..

 

I used Mobile-1 full synthetic for my R18. I'm about to switch over on my Fit, too.

 

Torco Full Syn. for me.

I'm ordering some today, along with their MTF.

I'm running RP right now, things were a little quieter and smoother after changing... then again I don't know if it was because of "new" oil or "synthetic" oil

Mobil 1 Synthetic........worth the money. Easy on your engine, and prevents build up.

nope.

 

Mobil1 Full Synthetic 5W20 w/ factory Honda oil filter. 07 FG1.

 

Mobil 1 full syn i only had an intake when i 1st put it in and after that you couldn't even tell the car was running thats how quiet and smooth it was after Mobil 1 FTW

 

I use OEM Honda oil for my girlfriend's every 3k miles.

 

I always stick to what Honda recommends! If it says 5w20 (which is what you should be running in the R18) then that is what I use! I have not seen any customers that complain if noisey valvetrain with Mobile1.
