Default Bought a Dynasty 200DX :D

I picked up a 3 minute/18 strike Miller Dynasty 200DX for 2600 bucks...and sold my Syncrowave 200 for 2100 w/ 300 cubic foot bottle.

My old machine had 56 hours 58minutes and around 24k strikes.

Best of all...I can plug this **** into an outlet on the wall :D

Inverters FTW

Well, look who's baller status.....

Do only Millers count hours and things....just top end welders? My lincoln doesn't have a logger that I know of, unless it's inside or something.

syncrowave 200 is like 375 lbs
Its HUGE
Uses 220/240 (like washer dryer out)
Uses a lot of current...even when its just sitting there
~$2000
Dynasty 200dx is like 40 lbs
its tiny
Can use 120(wall outlet) 220/240 (washer dryer out)
Doesnt use very much current (didnt flip a 15 amp wall outlet at 200 amps)
$3600

I got mine used for 2600....

Sycrowave was bulletproof....Never had to take it in.

Evidently the dynasty 200dx has the HF start break on it...but oh wells.

Syncrowave is great for everything but aluminum.
Can't do much with the duty cycle on even 1/8" of any real size.
Forget 1/4"...
Dynasty would be about the same, but just won't trip the breaker.
The sync 200 I had pulles 54 amps when doing 180amps. Sucked.

I went and got the dynasty 350, love it. So much less power drawn.

A dynasty 200 with a water-cooled torch would be pretty nice for almost all jobs, and light-gauge aluminum.

Nice buy! Inverters sure are nice when you do alot of welding and have to pay your own hydro bill.

Nice Buddy!!! I bought a Arcmaster 185 and love that inverter technology. It would be nice to be able to plug it into a 110 outlet at times tho!

I've had that issue with any inverter ive used. It will just sit there and buzz otherwise, even if the T is 1/16" away from the workpiece, with the grounding clamp 5 inches away ON the workpiece.

Hey do your guys' 200dx's make weird noises even while they are not welding, my 300dx is quiet all the time. The 200dx also makes different noises as you change amperage while welding.

It sounds a bit different from my syncrowave...but I havent put the hours on it yet to tell. I've had the fan kick on twice, but thats it.

Dave,
I'll be getting my stuff figured out for the next few weeks... I definitely want to go up there and check out the place. One of the guys here at the VRI works at For it All Motorsports (big Porsche shop)...if you know of them. Im just trying to figure out who all the local shops are and what they do! So if someday im in a pinch to get some supplies I know who i can hit up.

(Flanges are in the works down here :D) CNC plasma

I'll be working on a production manifold/dp/dumptube setup for a TiAL 35R/TiAL44mm Gate/3" V-banded Bseries manifold combinations. :-D that will be my bread and butter this winter to help pay the bills. :D
