I just bought a 2003 S2000 without the factory alarm and am considering putting it in. My question is: does the factory alarm have a siren, or does it just honk the horn when set off? Also, does it have a chirp sound & flash when you arm/disarm the alarm, or does it behave the same way as a non-alarm S2000 (ie. press twice = horn honk...no chirp).

yeah it uses the horn, AND I HATE IT. The car rearms itself and goes off uncontrollably and it is the most annoying ****. if im workin on it i have to keep pressing the unlock button like every 5 m inutes or the alarm will go off. i had to turn my sensitivity all the way down.

edit: no chirp on mine either

i dont know about any aftermarket alarms though, i just know that my oem one sucks.

 

its not a alarm........ its a keyless entry....

Huh? Yes, Honda makes an alarm for the S2000. It was optional.
