This actually happened about a month ago, but I was so frustrated with the car that I didn't touch her until today when I pulled off the head. I bought 98 ITR #1007's heart from pennies_hatchie this spring. The reason she blew up was probably me boosting on my old GSR street tune at a whopping 4 lbs.
Oops...that looks expensive.

Let's take a closer look...Cylinder #1 decided to stretch herself out

Hairline crack on Cylinder #3

Here's the ITR head...looks alright, I'm going to freshen her up with a stock rebuild and a little port-n-polish action.

So much for a stock-sleeve ITR build next year...

Hopefully if I get the funds together this winter, I can send the block off to Benson for some proper love.
In the meantime, I'll be putting together a budget stock-sleeve LS/VTEC build for next season. I'm hoping to max out my GT3255E on it, then throw on a SC6152E when the ITR block gets back from Benson

Moral of the story: Don't get stupid and not listen to your tuner when they tell you not to boost on an old/different tune
<-- wishes he had an ITR to throw his B18C5 into

Enlighten me. I assumed it was the injector clip coming loose.

AAhhh, it hurts me to see my old heart in that state. Well, Fnan, good luck on the build and next time, get it tuned.
lol u r going to scare potential boosted itr wannabes
, but unfortunately its your own fault for that happening, cheaping out on the tune turns out a lot more expensive.
