Default prelude sh tranny and atts questions

ok i know the prelude SH trannies dont have a differential...but what i was wondering was if i could leave the ATTS in place and leave it unhooked and not working instead of swapping trannies and adding a intermediate shaft? for a swap into a civic.. would the unhooked up atts act as a differential?

would this work?

something like this link but it really doesnt help any..

lets say i wanted to put the SH motor/tranny into a civic. leave the ATTS unit and everything there but obviously not hooked up and working. would it still act as a differential and put power to the ground and move the car around like a normal base tranny with differential?

The M2U4 does have a differential. If the whole assembly including the atts unit fits in the civic it'll work fine. A lot of people do this with their SH's when they switch to obd1 to tune.

does anyone have a pic of the differential because i looked through the axle inputs and didnt really see a differential.. i mean why would it need a differential when its equipped with the atts ? i could be wrong.

I wonder the same thing you do https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2128895 .

If you look in any honda parts catalog though, there is listed a differential assembly for the m2u4. I suspect it looks very different from the one in the picture because it clearly cannot be exactly the same as a normal trans'. So if you ever open the trans you have please take pics and/or describe what the diff looks like.
