Its probably a wheel sensor if all she did was hit a curb. is anything noticeably bent up?

Also, if you pull your cel 2 pin connector out from around behind your center counsil (blue 2 pin quick connector), than jump the connector using a paper clip (pretty much put one end in one side and other end in other side to jump the connection) and watch your 4WS light blink. Long pulses equal incriments of 10 and short pulses indicate 1's. So ie. if you get a long followed by 2 short ones together without any long gaps between pulses, than its 12, (10+2). If they are separated by a long duration than it could be two separate codes.

That number will give you whats wrong with your 4 ws system.

Some codes might just keep coming back though even after you clear them, If something is still wrong. If something is broken you should find out what you broke than just try and have it fixed or fix it yourself.

Hi

I have disconnected the battery and the 4 wheel steer light stays on and the 4 wheel steering still does not work any thoughts would be appreciated the code was a 23 which is KS (Knock Sensor) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor.

Sorry if I sound a little dump but I have followed the advice given and also searched the net for many solutions including the 4 wheel steer service manual but I still unable to reset the system..

Many thanks.... for your time replying

You're not going to be able to clear the light until you fix whats causing the light....which is apparently a busted sensor.

If your car is like my 4th gen, pull the radio fuse and it will reset your 4WS ECU. If not, as said before, pull the negative bayyert cable.

It could be that the alignment is off now too.

As soon as you start the car, does the light come on or does it come one when you drive for a little bit?

i dont think that the 4ws ECU uses any input from the knock sensor to function - I think youre reading the wrong codes. Plus the fact that the UK VTi's don't have a knock sensor!
The codes may be different from the 4th gen 4ws codes too. Unfortunately only UK and Jap 5th gens had 4ws available, so most people here won't be any specific help for your car.
You could try PreludeUK - not sure if there's any specific links to the 5th gen 4ws in the tech section there..
