Default super d questions???

alright guys if you don't know what this is it's in the august issue of hondatuning mag, they put the internals out of the d17 into the d16a6 block, well i was wondering if anyone knew the deck height of the d16a6 and the d16y8, reason being i bought a d17 last week for $ 40 bucks and i have a complete y8 with a spun rod bearing, so i could possibly do this build for cheap and have it v-tec too! so if anyone has any info i would greatly appreciate it thanks

All D16's share the same deck height. D17 pistons should sit about .020" in the hole if the block hasn't been touched.

does anyone know the exact measurement in mm's? if all d16's have the same block height? and with the gx pistons how much should i deck it? In hondatuning they deck it like .060" and it gives around 13:1 c/r!

.031" in the hole

~12.56:1 at 75.5mm with no decking, milling.

With .5mm over D17A1 pistons brought to 0 deck and 2 layer Y8 HG you'll have about 10.96:1. I don't know the dish size of these so I took the closest dished pistons I could find (D16 Y8 and HX) and took the 1.1 difference and subtracted half of that off the Y5 piston dish specs.

212mm

PMS's with d16, d17 or ls rods will give you aprox 12.9:1 cr with y8 head y8 2 layer gasket and no milling.

You should use the right term for the pistons because PDN's and PMS's are both gx's and alot different. If you were running the PDN's you would be about 17:1cr
