EJ6

what swap are u doin?

for some tech on a b18b in a cx( what i learned)

exhaust collector had to be twisted to fit the header,
ls throttle cable
had to use a t bracket off a b16 ls one was to long
1 wire <-- cx vs the 4 wire, did want to deal with it just got th ecu re programed to not check for the o2, the car doesnt throw any codes.

everything else was chill except getting the belt on the ctr pulley.

Nice. Once you start learning the motor and getting used to it, you should be a good full car length ahead of those GSR's. I had the same setup in a 93 coupe and was running 14.9 with it, with a full interrior with only an intake and catback exhaust. Im putting the setup into my new hatch now in hopes to see some mid 14's. Good luck man, hope all works out for you! The LS t bracket was too long for you??? Thats what I used in my setup, worked fine. What mounts are you using?

yes indeed just breakin her in gettin the feel for the motor,
yeah that damn t bracket didnt fit i doubt the jdm one is different from the u.s but o well, im using the hasport mounts dcstk.

sweet that u had the same setup i really like the b18b its a good strong motor, with the ctr pulley im going through gears like its nothin 1 to 4th quick its sweet

good luck with the swap let me know on the up dates

i see ur runnin b20 if im not mistaken, which one pulled hard ur stock b20 or the b18b? its seems back n fourth on which one pulls harder.

thats sweet obd0 or sir 11?

it wasnt all that hard it was my first swap also my first jdm motor, i had that crapy *** 70hp motor.

some problems i ran into was after the d series was out i tried dropping it in with the ls t bracket and didnt fit was too long i was like wtf so i had to wait to get a b16 one. once the motor was in pretty much plug n play, used a 95 ls harness so it made it go easier and the ctr pulley was a *** but once on there it was chill

it took me 2 full days, i say it was in between not easy not hard. u shouldnt have any problems with ur swap, if u got the right harness mounts ect.. it should be fairly keep me updated also

I'm throwin a B16A2 in my 97 DX. I know what i need as far as mounting parts, charging system, etc, but the wiring is one that i'll be reading up HEAVILY on. I think I remember a thread somewhere on H-T about this exact swap.

You can definatley feel that little bit of extra torque from the B20, but she does lack in the top end. B18B, lacking in the lower RPM's, but very nice in the mid-uppers. I was able to pull a best of 14.5 with the B18B+GSR Tranny in the batch, which is right where I was expecting to be. I think I might do a little tinkering with both motors. I might try putting the LS head on the B20B Bottom to see if I can get a good happy/medium between the both. Each motor makes up for what the other lacks. I figure that since the B20 is good for bottom end power, and the B18 is good for top end, if I put them together, it should make a pretty nice setup. Just gotta research the differences in deck height, piston sizes, rod lengths, etc.

yeah i hear the b18b head on the b20 is ill cause of the head flow. good luck with that.
later on down the road when i go ls-v im thinking about putting a b16b head on it if i can find one, dont know all the things i have to do to make it work yet but ill know when the time comes.
also it would be different cause i havent really seen b16b heads on anything besides the full swap.
