Default Lets talk Wire Harnesses

Okay I think I got one. I also may have figured out where all my hacked wires are as well. Today I took off a long set of wires that look like a wire harness. It has the gromet that runs from the engine bay to the cabin. The following pictures all have the same numbers on them, some of them I know some off them I dont, any help much appreciated. If you dont know Im doing a swap h23a1 to h22a.

5. PLugs for the ecu.
7. IDK

2.IDK
2a. IDK

6. Vtec wires

5. ECU plugs
6. Plugs into motor

2. IDK
3. Is 7 from first pic

1. looks like it is the hacked wires from this

Which probally end at number 7

If im not mistaken this is the wire harness that Honda wants 1200 bucks for.

I can still use the old wireness from h23a1 and that will work, Ill just need to run the Vtec wires.

I'm not sure what to make of all that stuff dude, I can go thru and tell you what they are but why does that matter when you're just going to use the h23 harness?

Remember, the jdm harness isn't even an option, it plugs in on the wrong side.

Yeah If you could go through it, would be great. It would help when Im labeling and installing the wire harness, from the new motor, and marking whats what on the old motor.

So the ECU plugs wont into the Ecu with the JDM wires cause everything in Japan is made on the oppoisit side.

i cannot really tell what you are doing, but it looks like you took teh cabin harness out for some reason in some of those pics.
to swap an h22 into a car with an h23, you take teh ENGINE harness off of the h23 and put it on the h22. then you put the h22 in the car, and plug in the h23 harness to the chassis harness. The ecu plugs are not a part of the engine harness, they are a part of the chassis harness inside the cabin of the car...

Well whatever it is. I got it.

I got it as part of the motor I bought. I checked the whole wire harness itself plugs into the engine and the other end plugs into the ECU. Except for the white wire harness number 7 IDK where that plugs into. What do you think that harness is worth? <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by v4lu3s &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i cannot really tell what you are doing, but it looks like you took teh cabin harness out for some reason in some of those pics.

unless you are a junkyard its not worth much, and even then they usually crush that in the car anyway. I save a few bits of harness like that and steal pins or wires as needed for swaps.

Really I was kinda hoping that it was the whole wire harness that honda charges 1200 bucks for oh well. Thanks though for participating in my thread.

well i bet you could sell it to someone who has a right hand drive prelude that needs to replace the whole harness and is willing to go to that much effort.
Good luck finding your buyer!
