Play with tire pressure and suspension settings from run to run.
What rpm to launch at really depends on a lot of conditions.
I would recommend starting at 3800 rpms and working your way up as needed etc.

Many people let a little air outta their tires...

Eh, I'd take out back seats, spare tire, just because...

Well, I'd find a big abandoned parking lot or something along those lines and practice on launching...

I should set my suspension soft in the front and stiff in the back?

all the way stiff in back, front is variable

1. what rpms should i try launching at?

i like 4k

any advise would be great, trying to get a good 60'

the launch is everything. i dont burn out on street tires, its been proven not to help.

2. What does feather the clutch mean and how do you do it?

this is my understanding, i launch at 4k and let go of my clutch pedal half way while holding my rpm at 4k with the gas untill i feel traction. then i gradually give more gas and let go of the clutch trying to stay just on the brink of traction.

if i get traction too quick at 4k i raise it accordingly.

idk if that answered your question really but i pull better times than most my friends by the 60' in their cars. for example i pulled a 2.0 60' in my old 99' civic CX hatch stock at sea level.

good luck and try new things. there is a million ways to launch well..

I launch at 7k and feather the clutch and usually get traction at ~7.5k with a quick pull to 8k and shift into 2nd.

Theres lots of launching techniques so use whatever works for you

I found launching at 4500 was good for me, so tires REALLY count...

And about doing your burnout on street tires, don't do it as posted before...

Go around the water in the burnout area.

Spin your street tires for a second to clear out the tread (get the stones out).

Hold your Revs at ~4k.

Slip the hell out of your clutch to get going. You want to get moving a fast as possible without wheel-spin.

Wear your seatbelt, and have fun!!
