Default 4.40 ring gear swap

Hello

Can I swap a 90-91 4.40 ring gear into a 92-93 LS (4.26) tranny?

Thanks!

Yes, but you need another differential. The 4.40 won't bolt up to the LS diff.

Not sure about the cable trannies, but on the '94-01 hydro LS tranny you can use a 4.40 B16 ring gear on the LS diff, same bolt pattern.

Do the notches on the final drive ring gear have to match with the countershaft gear? are they matched sets.

YES, they are matched sets.. you can not just swap it in without changing the countershaft too..
