4.40 ring gear swap

Not sure about the cable trannies, but on the '94-01 hydro LS tranny you can use a 4.40 B16 ring gear on the LS diff, same bolt pattern.

Do the notches on the final drive ring gear have to match with the countershaft gear? are they matched sets.
