Default Vtec b16b type r question

i'm looking to buy a vtec b16b type r engine and i was wondering if its better to use the transmission that it comes with or use the transmission thats already in my car?

what car do you have?


EDIT: regardless of car...id say wherever you are ordering the motor from..id see if you can get the jdm LSD trans..if it doesnt come with it already

I don't know what car you have, but I doubt it's got a better transmission than what will come on the CTR swap. The swap will have close ratios mated to the B16 powerband, and a limited slip diff. That's what you need/want.

Why a b16b? Unless your autox or road racing Id recommend a gsr. Cheaper and more torque though the b16b has shorter gears and 5hp more than the JDM gsr.

Because it's a Type ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHH!!

A B16B is a B-Series motor. You have a D-Series motor. The transmissions aren't interchangeable.
