I don't own either, but I can tell you what verybody will say:

Don't bother with the pads, you can get better for cheaper and for your specific driving style and intended uses. You need first do a search on brake pads in this forum and over in the Road Racing/Autocross forum. Then tell us what you will be using them for....

The Spoon rotors are nice - a long arguement about slotted rotors will then follow with a mojority of people recommending getting Brembo blanks. I personally like the Spoon rotors and will probably get a set soon enough, even though they probably make little difference over OEM rotors.

What is your indended use for these brakes?

Unless you have money to toss away... just get normal replacement rotors with a 'nice' pad (sutited for you use) and good brake fluid.

Mintex / Pagid / Textar... not sure what kinds of pads you have common access to.

I have the spoon rotors - like RedintegraR said it is not a huge difference that can be noticed when driving on street but better track performance is the plus. I have heard endless and project mu brake pads work really well with these rotors. I would suggest brembo as another cost effective rotor. I've never used brembo though. I would actually like to by either buy the endless or project mu rotor - those seem to have a better design. Mugen has the best rotor with its design as it spins actually pulls air onto the rotor cooling it for street/track use. But the kit is 1200-1300 for the rotors and s2000 calipers thats all those are - call honda with the part# on the caliper and thats what theyll tell you. Well hopefully that helps you and others. Thanks Paul

Ventilated disc spin the hot air OUT not in.

But it might just be the way I read it. Cause when the Disc is spinning the heat raditates Out. That why Brake ducting points right at the Hub( the centre).

Just my 2c.

Later.

Why not keep factory pads - Nissin - since they make spoon's s**t anyway.

xdrilled rotors are for ppl who don't really know better. Slotted ones are good if u have more money to spend, but 40$ Brembo blanks are more than enough for even the most hardcore racers. Rotors are just wear and tear items. You don't get better braking by getting spoon/project mu or any other rotors for that matter. All anyone would be buying is the name of the spoon rotor and maybe a little more wear from them.

Spoon pads aren't that good. Endless are decent, but cost way too much to do the same job as others from Hawk, Carbotech, Porterfield, Performance Friction, etc... Don't buy parts just for the name, buy them for the performance. Buying expensive parts for your car but with no advantage other than using them to show off is nothing more than expensive rice...
