aww d@M^... i need a motor
well, now that ive blown up the motor in the ls, im gonna swap to v-tec. i need to do this as cost effective as possible (planning wedding), so im going to run an idea by. im thinking GSR head, B16 block (cheaper than B18C), utilize ls tranny for now, and chipped p28 ECU. i want to use a vtec block because its going to be an all motor setup for circuit, and i need my revs. any opinions?... more than welcome to hear them.
ok, project underway.
picked up B16A block and tore it apart.
then, ordered ACL bearings.
found a chipped P28 last night.
head is at a buddies house, waiting to be picked up.
oredering rings and head gasket tonight or tomorrow.
pics up soon.

dude all that work and its going to be as slow as your LS. For circuit racing you really need to stay at high rpm constantly and the LS tranny is going to hurt you there.
In a straight line itd be about as fast a stock LS.

Oh yeah, so that way you lose some compression, going in the exact opposite direction that you would want to.

well, its an obd1 integra. i need to get it back on the road, so its what i can do for now. everyone seems to be determined that ill be leaving the car the way it is. the tranny will be changed out in due time and the block will be swapped out for a b18C later. THIS IS ONLY FOR NOW.
and as for compression loss, according to the "compression calculator" http://www.clubcivicquebec.com...f.php , i should have about 10.75:1 where as a b16a is quoted for 10.25:1.
this is with no head or block work and a 2 layer head gasket.

So it would be better to go with the GSR head, would only make sense also since he will be putting the matching block later anyways. For the OP though, are you not using a stock HG, because the stock ones are 3 layer.
