Default Good deal, definitely, but is it TOO good?

2000 cbr f4 for 2200

registered until oct 08

"clean title, good tires, new chain, new seat. needs front turn signals."

he (or she) hasnt gotten back to me yet, but why would an f4 be so cheap? is it because its getting cold? even if the bike has 40k miles, its still cheap.

the thing is, im not as knowledgeable about bikes as cars, which is still only moderate. i have my m license, and i can ride it, but does this sound fishy? 2000 is about all i can afford on a bike, and thats a stretch. otherwise id pay more for piece of mind.

should i check it out? is he gonna rape me when i get there? how much would a mechanic cost to go there and check it out with me? thanks for the replies, i know the info is a little sparse

f4 with 40k for 2200 sounds like a good deal, make sure it was not in any accidents

is it to where its TOO good to be true? i mean if its in good condition im all for it, but im not experienced enough to know the difference between a good deal and a scam.

Im in socal and i got my F4 for about the same price...

seems real enough to me... but dont quote me on that

F4s go for so much cheaper because of the carbs... hard to deal with them-- make sure matinence is up to date, maybe that's why its cheap

when you tell him you are going to look at it, tell him to leave the motor cold. when you get there make sure it is. A lot of carburetted motors start well enough when they are warm, but battle when they are cold. This doesn't necessarily mean there is anything major wrong with the bike, may just need the carbs synced, or valve adjustment etc. It will however tell you that it may need some work that is going to cost money if you don't know how to do it yourself. you might at least be able to use this as a tool to negotiate him down in price.
Hope this helps

i shouldve seen it earlier, but iw as at work (WEBSENSE CAN SUCK MY DICK). anyways, the guy sounds like he was 40. his voice was old and he said "a young man just took it off the driveway"

i missed out... now im depressed as ****. (oh, btw, sorry for the misinformation, it wasnt 40k. i said, even IF it had 40k. my bad)
