aaaa so you guys are the 3rd team that will be running the GT RX-8

Tons of the silly season and rumor geeks, would be pretty pumped to know who the 3rd team was.

well the white one is based on a late 70s model 911 chassis...but with the body work and engine/trans combo, it would be considered a 935....the slant nose is an '89 model 930, but they are really the same chassis-wise as the same era 911s just with a different front end

but yeah when someone says 930, they are talking about the slant nose model

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by slammed_93_hatch &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">aaaa so you guys are the 3rd team that will be running the GT RX-8

hmm i dont know that im at liberty to talk about that

but if you want to PM me you can

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by weiRtech &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">love the old school porsches. seeing those nice plump asses is just as good as seeing the same thing on women. what type of racing are they going to be doing?</TD></TR></TABLE>

well actually the white 935 is not gonna be "raced" competitvely...the owner has his own personal road course...and he goes thru cars like water....for all i know he will sell it and it might be raced competitively by the next owner

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by not so civic &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i guess i'll be seeing that RX8 at the Rolex24 next year. they sound so damn good out there. can you post some interior pics of the RX8?</TD></TR></TABLE>

yep we will be there with the car...the interior is in shambles....but that hewland is going in this coming week, so it will be back together soon hopefully

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Casey &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">cute jordie. real cute. did you call me the other day??? </TD></TR></TABLE>

i did....you owe me money and i was just seeing what you were up to

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 93supercoupe &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i want details on every car posted, serious, that **** is sick. </TD></TR></TABLE>

the red 930 is just a street car, built, twin turbo, pretty nice...but it was a factory slant nose and if it was me i wouldve kept it stock...i didnt do much work on it so i dont know too many of the minute details

the white car has a naturally asprirated, individual throttle bodied, 3.8L air cooled engine with a g50 trans

if you guys want any more details let me know

all i have to say is i would die for a chance to work on a slantnose. you call it a 930, i recall the "slantnose" being 935. basically a 911 with different body as you stated... am i confused on something here? im still trying to remember the whole 911/996/997 thing

i agree with you on the slant..those are such a rare breed, call me a purist but there are somethings better left alone.

actually what i said is a little confusing

930 is the chassis code for the turbo 911....this included the normal and slant nose body

the 935 is the racing version...which actually included the slant nose race bodies and the regular front ends

so basically 935=race car & 930=street car

and im with you on leaving somethings alone...the slant nose is one of them

well kind of

basically the stock chassis code was 930

the race version of the car was 935...so really you can only refer to the actual race cars as 935s and be right

but theres a lot of people that call them whatever they want...thats why theres so much discrepancy

ok , gotcha. built on the same chassis, but dependant on race/street versions. Let me ask you this, is this similar to the current models of , lets say, GT2 VS GT2 RS. GT2 being street verision GT2 RS being Race ready of the same car.. as i said before, im a bit rusty, so please forgive my ignorance .

well, similar, but for instance the gt3 and gt3 rs are both allowed to run on the street...however the new supercup cars (factory race-ready gt3 race car) would be a better comparison

Actually that white one would be more appropriately called a 934, 935 look very different.

actually, you are wrong

go look up original 935, theres a picture of it at weissach that was taken at its release

youre probably thinking that ALL 935s were slant nose or even as crazy looking as the "moby dick" 935, but it is incorrect to think that

Lookin good. What is your role with the cars? wiring, chassis, all around fabrication?

everything really...cage building, chassis setup, all kinds of fabrication, engine assembly, general maintenence, wiring, some tuning, etc, pretty much if it has to be done to these cars ive done it...and i havent even been there that long

the only thing I dont PERSONALLY do is the actual head porting and engine building...my boss is the only one that does that, and for some reason he never lets any of the rest of the employees do that, even though that has been a good majority of my background...but oh well

935's were slantnose man, not standard front end. Thats more of a 934 than anything.

The ORIGINAL 935 was a regular front end...934s had a different front and rear bumper...body wise they were the same, yes

The 935s changed over to the slant nose about halfway through the first season they ran
