Default Repair manuals on CD Good? Bad?

Good evening all. As I am trying to gather the proper tools and manuals to repair my Accord, a friend told me about this. Seems repair manuals are for sale on Ebay. I did a search and found this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...41272
and would appreciate your input. Thanks people!

I would give it a shot, since it didn't cost as much as the haynes repair manual (which retails for about 20 bucks).

It's good. I have one on CD. I think it's the same one. It's a fully indexed and linked PDF. I've used it to tweak a few things on my Accord. Fully recommend it.

my neighbor gave me one and i've used it a few times, its got its downfalls and up sides though.

for example you'll need to print out stuff

but it makes for finding stuff alot easier if you can search it

No worries there i have a laptop. Im more concerned is how comprehensive is it. Will it tell me the tools I need? Is it step by step? As I am a idiot when it comes to car mechanics and no one wanted pizza and beer to look over the car with me I am looking into other options as I NEED this car and i need it running better than it is. The shops here in Durham NC are exbortitant and don't have that kind od money.

first of all, dont buy that...

I am willing to bet that is a scanned copy of a Helm manual (copy written)... Helm manuals are expensive but more than worth it as they pay for themselves in the money you save in labor costs. Helm is also a very good company, they have great customer service. I bought a set of manuals from them once and they came in with the binding loose on one and water damage to the other. I called them up and they immediately told me to just discard that set and they would reship my order and 3 day ship it. I didn't have to argue, didn't have send the other ones back, nothing... they are a good company and get from me.

second, you can find that exact copy on the internet for free! (DO NOT post the link if you have it as it's against the rules)

Why let someone make money off copy written material to start with, even more so if you can find it for free on the internet.

I say spend the extra money and order from Helm Inc. if you want the best shop/service manual for your car.
