Default car wont crank

Just started to happen yesturday. Everything was fine until i was going to head home, got in my car and it wont crank. My battery was good because my cluster lights were on and radio worked fine. I had to have someone jump start my car. The next day, car turned on fine, and i went to go eat. I was about to head out, and again, car wont crank. Is my starter starting to take a dump on me? alternator? Any suggestions please. TIA.

Try tapping the starter with a hammer and starting it. If it starts after that than you know that its the starter.

Doesn't make sense that it would start with a jump start if it was the starter at fault...

Had this problem on my gf's civic and it was the battery terminals. They weren't making a good connection on the battery posts. I would turn the key to the on position, all the lights would come on and the stereo would work, but it would click or do nothing as though the battery was dying when I went to start it (because of how much amperage the starter takes, that's why all the lights worked even with the crappy connection). It also started fine with a jump because it was bypassing the crappy terminal connection.

well happened today at mcdonalds, from the day i posted this thread it stopped until now. it was hot as expletive and i was getting food at mcdonalds, went outside and car wouldnt start, i can hear the fuel priming but wont crank, i dont know if its my starter, or my battery, i can jump start the car. all my dash lights and radio are working while key is in ignition but car wont start. so hopefully you fellow H-T'ers would know so i dont spend my money on the wrong thing, money has been tight as expletive lately

it could be two things, one the exact same thing would happen to my integra a week ago... everything would come on but it wouldnt start unless i jumped it and it turned out to be the battery was shot... then it happend on my civic and one the terminals was not making a good connection and then a week later same happened again and it was my starter taking a ****... so really its a 50/50 chance imo of which one it is...
