If you do a track-school, they sometimes rent out leathers (California Superbike School does).

A tracksuit + gloves + boots doesn't have to cost $1000. You can buy from New Enough's closeout section to lower the cost.

Most track organizers will require at least leathers. Some track schools may allow textile suits that zip together (such as Aerostich suits). All will require gloves, boots, and a helmet in good condition.

Think of this gear as a one-time investment purchase. Once it's done, you don't really need to keep buying it over and over.

Before you sign up with an organizer or school, be sure to check out their requirements for bike and rider. They will usually want new or near-new tires, water wetter instead of coolant / engine ice, and taped mirror/headlights.

Easy. Get a part-time job.

Even if you go just to spectate, you may have to pay a gate fee (typically $10) to get in.
