cut off a wg flange to replace it with a different kind. manifold is ceramic coated in and out. I been die grinding like a moother fukka on it and NO prevail. I cant get a puddle to start. It just gets all smokey, brown and black and crater looking
i am re evaluating my life all over now.
Ok its finished. Turned out... well.... eh' decent... def isn't my prime. Hard as HELL to get a good puddle and keep it clean
Had to use more heat than needed to keep the weld from getting out of hand and inconsistent. O well, got the job done. I don't plan ever to mess with a ceramic coated manifold again, LoL.
Thanks for the help!

Dude, that sucks... that **** is embedded in the steel on an almost molecular level. How far away from the weld joint are you cleaning?

i got it solved guys. almost done welding it. what a PITA. I am letting it cool so i can get a bead going on the inner part where it isnt so easily accessible to weld on the outside area due to a runner literally running next to the flange
Man, lookin at that pic of the inside of that runner it's no wonder you couldn't weld it good. Glad it turned out....dude should be happy.

not sure what it is. I hate that manifold for what they ask for a price!!! the collector is super shallow.
Supra people are a weird bunch. If the manifold builders other than full-race would use some "honda" knowledge their cars would be so much more efficient. Ive seen a couple vw manifolds and they are horrible, look like single pass welded manifolds.
lol....i have a supra here with a 55r on it. it originally had 1 44m gate and the least amount of boost it would make on the dyno was 40lbs with a spring combo that equaled 20lbs.
i just put a 2nd gate on it and slightly lower springs. hopefully its a little better!
