are you getting bad gas mileage?

how about correct PSI in your tires, clean your air filter, tune-up, 02 sensor bad? any cels?, higher octane gas. Run some fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank.

If over 50k miles, definately change it, it makes a big difference. I always do on my family's cars and when you take the old one out you'll notice how dark and dirty the gas that comes out of it looks. Fuel injector cleaners don't work, that;s just a waste of money unless you have the whole system cleaned by a qualified technician.

Need help guys, changed the fuel filter, but the copper washer for the bottom line (from tank) did not line up right so it distorted the washer and leaked, took it off, went to parts store got another washer did it again, same thing. How the hell are you supposed to get that bottom washer to line up?

while on the subject of fuel filters. When I got my car i noticed that someone had removed the factory fuel filter setup. base and all. they replaced it with just some inline filter. could this make the car seem like it is just cutting out sometimes like it doesnt want to take fuel efficiently. thanks sorry for threadjacking.

ok, apperantly it comes w/ a extra small copper washer for diff. applications, (CRV maybe). I took the washer out and put the original filter back on, tightened everything and no leaks. The weird thing is when I took it off there was a washer on that bottom line, it was all mashed up and blocking like 1/2 the flow through the filter, but was not leaking. Oh well, hopfully thats solves my lower then avg. MPG.
