I'm trying to wire up my fog lights, so basically this is what I want:
Fog lights and Intersection lights to light up when switch is on;
Fog switch to light up when lights are on or to stay off when they are not on.

I looked at my friend's car (96 CD5) with aftermarket "depo" fog light kit, and they turn on and turn off fine when low beam is on, but never light up the switch inside (not sure if he did everything the way "depo" had on the instructions or not, but i do know he has shared the fog light wires with his intersection lights as well.

Here's my diagram of what I have done to my car, and this is not working.

A called honda today and asked about the 2 wire harness necessary for a plug and play as well as a fusible link, but honda of america doesn't have the fusible link and also, doesn't have one of the wire harness (the one inside the car).

My question is, can someone really help me out doing a diagram or something, showing me what needs to be done for me to be able to have the lights working and the light of the switch working when lights are on.
I'm not very patient with wires, and i have spent 2 hours today doing mixing the wires and stuff, and was only able to make them work when i used an additional wire to connect the lights to the positive terminal of the battery (but switch wouldn't have any affect to it, or whether low beam was on or not).
I've done a search, but nothing seemed to be similar to what i'm looking for.
If you have gone through this and have pics... please share it...

hey man,

did you get the lights to work at all? if so then theres a positive thats not connected to the switch right.

the switch should have a pos a neg and another on it for the current to pass thru. how many wires come out the back?

 

by the way gian my intersection light are not sharing the same wires as my foglight i could have my intersection light on with fog off or both together cause my intersection light are connected to my headlight corner lens.

 

thats what i was thinking. if you didn't want your fogs on then the sides wouldn't be on. It depends on how exactly you want to do it, you could do it, 3 ways that im thinking of.

1-headlight switch controls all of them, with the fog light switch being able to turn off the fogs and the sides.

2-headlight switch controls them all with a seperate switch for the side lights and fogs

3-headlight switch controls both the headlights and side lights and the fog light switch controls the fogs.

I want the lights to work just like factory, with one thing, that the intersection lights will be connected with the fogs... simple.... ....but i'm terrible with wires!

 

i had a guide when i did the lude cluster wiring. but sony seems to be pointing you in the right direction.

BUT, if you want me to (don't know if u have one or not) i can look in the haynes manual for a wiring diagram to let u know what to splice?

 

can you show me a pic of the back of the fog light switch and tell me the wires that come otu of it? aren't there four or are there only 3?

 

From the back of the foglight switch, there are 5 wires, 2 black ones, one red/yellow and 2 red/black.... i added these details to my diagram.....

but... if i get another wiring diagram like the one i got from majestic honda, it won't help me... a need one those things like... "how to wire up you fog lights - for dummies"....

 

lol okay, well you got your lights to turn on like that, but you can't get the light on the switch to light up correct?

what kind of relay are you using btw, i think you'd need power to that and for it to be grounded.

The relay i'm using is the one that came with a cd6 front clip that was imported from japan.

ahhh gotcha. does it only have 2 posts on it?

and are you actually getting power to the lights? maybe your not using a live terminal in the fuse box

edit: there are different things in the fuse box for the position the key is in as well. I think some stuff like the radio and stuff will come on at any, but some stuff might only come on at 2 and some might only be live during the full turn.

 

Did you check the male spade terminal, in the fuse box, to see if it was "hot" and was providing 12V+? The installation instructions I had for an older Accord included: " install a 10 amp fuse in the open fuse slot next to spade lug where you attached the terminal going to the fog light switch." I forgot to add the fuse and the fog lights did not turn on. This required some retracing and voltmeter checks for find the issue (I also reread the instructions). I hope this helps and it was not my intent to insult your intelligence. I made a very basic mistake and overlooked my error.
