Anyone know where to find a h23a?
Just one question: Why do you want an h23?? Just get a Jdm H22, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they are all that more expensive then the h23, and it will serve you MUCH better!

tell you what, you turbo you're H23A, I'll turbo my H22A, and we'll see who wins.
My engine bay looks just like yours, dont you just love downtime? But as someone stated earlier to ditch the h23a and go for the jdmh22, well the jdm h22 should be saved for n/a and not turbo, the compression is just a little bit high for turbo where as the h23a is 9.8:1 and the h22a1/4 is 10:1 if memory serves correct.[Modified by GudeH23a, 7:28 AM 6/25/2002]
Vtec is over rated....And i am planing on going turbo..
T66 on a lude, WOW! I have faith in my hybrid which is rated up to 530hp.
This is an argument that will be beat to death forever. In order to make a valid comparison, both engines would need to have the same exact setup. Same turbo trim, same fuel system, same manifold/downpipe/exhaust combo, ect. With this being the case, i'd bet my money on the h22, and i'm not saying that because I own one. It's apparent that we will all side with the motors we have, hence the h23 guys claiming vtec ain't shiet. Pound for pound, the h22 will win. Up the boost a few notches on the h23 and it may be close.
Lets keep this discussion going, but in a mature fashion (meaning no bashing)
Don't reply if you have nothing worthwhile to add, thank you.

And i bet this arguement will be beat to death forever. Yes i agree, for a valid comparison you will need the SAME motors built the same. But when you lower the compression of the h22 youll lose that n/a power you have, when you get turbo camshafts, youll say byebye to the cam profile overlap that plays such a huge roll of the vtec engine and yadda yadda yadda. Vtec actually hinders performance on forced induction motors, which is why the endyn super charger disengages vtec for their systems. A concrete example is seen on the Megair's Type R that has a supercharger and turbo, when vtec engages you can actually see the hp drop on the dyno sheet. The h22a stock head has great flow, but when you port out both heads to identical specs.... well you get the point. The stock engines were not built or designed for boost, so when you modify each accordingly they will both react differently. I have the h23a motor and i love it, now if i had the h22a motor im sure i would love it just the same, and if i owned a hatchback you bet your sweet *** i would throw a h22a motor in it before i put a h23a in there. There are pro's and con's to both engines. I'm in no way saying vtec ain't ****, bc it is the ****. All in all, i say **** a B series, H series all day long baby! (dont tell any B series guys i said that please

btw: a turbo H22 will beat a turbo H23.
I dont see how you can say that.. It all depends on how the motor is built..

No it doesn't, if they are built to the same spec. Even if bulletproof, that is not gaining you any power, just reliability and piece of mind.

I'm with Pyro on that one....just get an H22...40 more hp at almost the same price...it's broken so fix it with an H22
