I would stick with a DEI unit for an alarm, but feel free to post this in the A/V forum. IMO If you are seriously interested in the camera aspect I would have a stand alone unit in your garage etc. Today they have reasonably priced motion activated systems which would be perfect for big brother...ie you.

Compustar Alarms are the only way to go.

Computrack on top of a good Compustar Alarm and you'll never be worried about leaving your R outside ever again.

Compustar Personally Sell and Install them. Way better compared to most DEI alarms

Couldn't agree more, Desmon(wrx-killer-sti-eater) will take great care of you.

I disagree, and since you install them Im going to assume you know why. If not PM me. I'm curious why you think they are "better" than most DEI units??

I have a compustar alarm and i love it!

Its gotten to the point where if you have a decal or sticker that says "Alarm installed by Desmon(wrx-killer-sti-eater)" the thieves will just walk away Thats how well known his work is.

I have that on my car, lol.

for compustar. The only reason I am still a dealer for them is because i sold about 2 dozen units in a month. I figured out a major flaw that I will only tell a compustar owner. And they said they would fix it but it was never done on the new units. Once I can get the units that sold swapped out to dei I will drop them forever. And now that dei makes a unit to make remote start legal and safe on a 5 speed there is no need for compustar. And there customer service sucks and caused some mixed feelings towards compustar and me between a good respectable member here. If compustar fixxes there problem I will have nonething but good words for them. But if a theif figures out you have a compustar alarm and he knows the flaw like many do its game over.

The only way to full protect your "r" if you love it so much is to really look at it from a crooks veiw. I know this might be hard because not everyone knows what to look for. And its hard to say whats whats across the net because you don't know who's who's. And yes there are theives that own "r" too. And I really close to killing a local that owns one. ******* bstered. sorry. But you really need to do a stealth alarm. If the dash is not pulled and alarm tucked into the factory harness, gps added to the mix. Unit mounted to the firewall. Dash made were it can not be taken out the car unless it hours of work. More then one fuel cuts, injector kills and ecu. Sorrry I can't givve out all my ways. your car is a potentail theft magnet. Now that battle of the imports is over for this season. I back to doing what I do best.
