Default Question for anyone who has had their door jammed shut

So my driver side door has been jammed shut for a while now in my teg... and ive finnally decided i need to go about fixing it. So from the inside, i popped the door panel off and eventually got the door open. However i have no idea what part i need to buy. I was thinking that it might be something like the whole assembly like this:

But i would like to get some input to see if anyone has had this happen to them before. Oh yea, when i finnally got the door open, i found a small broken spring inside the door panel so i figure this is why i have this problem.
Also, does anyone know if you have to take the window out of its track in order to get the lock assembly out? thanks

What happens when you pull the rod going to the latch, not the rod for the lock mechanism but for the latch release?

If it needs a latch assy, alll you need to do is put your window all the way up, and remove the 10mm bolt holding the bottom of the run channel in. The window track will pull right out leaving you plenty of room to remove the latch. I would suggest using an impact driver to loosen the phillips head screws holding the latch in.

That didn't answer my ? I'm trying to troubleshoot with you, so you don't have to pay someone. I work on Hondas for a living, and can help you if you pay attention.

With the latch/lock assembly out of the door(3 phillips screws hold it in), close the latch mechanism with your finger or a screw driver. Does the latch open up when you pull the rod, or push on the lever that is attached to the handle rod???

i think i know what two bars you are talking about... when i pull on the one attached to the latch, it seems jammed and doesnt move. the only reason i actually got my door open is because i stuck a flathead in the opening where the rod goes into and like pried it up and down. it just poped open after that??? btw it was really crammed and hard to get too.

so this is what the picture looks like of the part that i think i need. its the part that i circled in blue. on majestic acura it retails for 90 bucks. is it just worth it to get a new one or try to find a used one at the junk yard or something?

Just buy a new one. Unless you can really save a lot with a used latch.
