Transmission Question
Hey H-T!
There is a YS-1 short-gear transmission that is a no go. The clutch and flywheel were replaced and not 5 miles down the road *BANG* Not sure if it is an axle or the differential.. or what.
Is there anything to consider when inspecting the transmission?
Are there any pitfalls in taking the case apart to see inside?
Is the Honda manual available on-line for this transmission (dissasembly/reassembly)?
Thanks,
Enigma

ouch...that sucks dude. no one likes replacing parts just to have them give you more problems...umm i would be prepared on going back to school then dude...i mean googleing is only gonna give you so much information...start researching rebuild threads online...there are alot of them out there where people have gone through the works on a rebuild....i can't tell you exactly what to expect when looking for transmission issues...obviously no one is going to take you step by step through all the rebuilld process...im sure someone can give you some heads up on what to look for though...hopefully its not your daily driver and you can just yank it out and start taking it step by step...im actually in the process of rebuilding the same YS1 tranny myself so if i come along any threads i'll post them for ya. As long as you don't have to replace an entire gear though you shouldn't have much to worry about...i've heard that synchros and such aren't too bad to replace, which is pretty typical on these older tranny's. GOOD LUCK
