Default Need some info on building tower bars

I am looking at building my own strut tower bar and I need some info on what kind of material is good to use? ALso, any places that make the end parts that actually mount to the bolts. Just curious what kind of metal to use ( Alum, steel, stuff like that). Not using Titanium. Also, is there any company that makes custom parts for cages and bars like this? Hope you guys can help! Thanks!!

what kind of custo parts are you talking about? if you are going to be making a custom strutbar why not just make the mounting plates as well? i made my last one out of steel but you can use whatever you feel like using. what are you capable of doing? fabrication wise, if you are no good at welding aluminum or well versed on how to work with it, dont use it. simple advice, start with the mounting plates and fab from there. tack it together 1 piece at a time and make sure it installs and removes with ease, weld it up.

My brother in law is a welder and he is good with aluminum and steel. He will be doing the welding but I was curious on what would be better, I was under the hood of the car today and I definitly will be fabing my own mounting plates but other than that, you answered my question on what material...im going with 6061 T6 aluminum.

t6 loses its temper around welds, so you could have it retempered if you liked, or not worry about it, which should be fine, but if it ever did break there you might know why.
