Noob Reporting for Hazing
http://viewmorepics.myspace.co...30338
New to the whole forum thing so I am unsure how to post the pics. Here is the link to the pics though. I got my car in May of '07 and haven't done to much to it. When I got it, it was totally stock with 34k and it is pushing 73k now. I really do not know to much about the history but, would be interested in researching it if someone could point me in the right direction. I have tried registering it on ITRCA but, can't seem to get it to accept. I was raised on OLD American Muscle so this is my first import. Any pointers on a direction to head with it would be appreciated.

Damn, you've put almost 40k miles on it in a year and 5 months, that's quite a bit. Welcome, make sure you read the forum rules and stuff, there's a lot of good info in the FAQ section, you can use the search function on the top right, make sure you look through recent and archived content because you may find what you are looking for. As far as pics go, if you have them saved on your computer just go to an image hosting site (ex: we-todd-did or photobucket) and put them on there and use the URL addres in between [IMG][/IMG] these (you can get those by hitting the button that looks like a mountain with a sun). GL with everything

Also what is the badge # on the armrest? What are your goals with the car? Are you looking to start tracking it or just have fun? Do you have anything done to it now or is it still how you purchased it?
The badge number is 00-1195. I wouldn't mind a little tracking but, it is first and foremost my year round daily driver. I have a bunch of little stuff done. Mostly freebies that I got from friends or traded to me for work or parts. AEM fuel pressure regulator, JEG's fuel gauge, JDM shifter boot, Accel 300+ Digital Ignition, tore all the interior out and removed any type of padding, sealer, sound deadening left and put interior back in, wire tucked the interior, Mugen pedals (were in it when I got it), Instrument Cluster Gauge Bezel, A/F gauge, and boost/vacuum gauge.
May of '07 and this is only Oct. of '07. I have only had it 6 months and have managed to put 40k on it.
Sad at the same time. Thankfully I got a new job that is A) a lot closer and B) not in the city where it's more likely to get stolen.

I would suggest an intake, so you can do some ricer flybys
I have an AEM CAI, most guys on here suggest Mugen 1st and AEM 2nd, pretty big price difference between the 2, the Mugen is good for mid range and the AEM is good for high end. If you want to track then get some seat time, don't worry about getting suspension if you've never done it before, go to some autox's next year (they're probably finished in OH for the year I would think) or some HPDE's or even wait till Expo 8 which will be my 1st track event

Hope that works. Yea pretty much just goin' to work, cruising, couple trips to Northern Michigan. I'd definatly like an intake. I have been reading on how to do the NSX air box swap but, I can't find a used airbox. Also looking at the NSX caliper swap.
Don't doing anything to the braking system, until you NEED to. NSX calipers would be quite useless unless you're tracking the car on a regular basis.
Don't do a hack intake either, just spend the money on a nice one.

Truth! Type R brakes can handle what you want, pads, fluid, and lines is all you need, don't waste your money on NSX calipers or Spoon (unless you are a baller and have the flow to) for that matter

I definatly need to do something with them. I warp breaks the way I drive. Most people would cry if they saw how I drive daily and the people on the road are usually yelling or telling me I'm number one. I have started pricing Hawk HPS pads, Power-Slot Cryo treated Slotted rotors, lines and ATE Blue fluid. I was reading the NSX caliper swap is just a straight bolt on the way I understood it for the Type R. I figured a little over kill in the brake dept. never hurt anyone.

HAHA, I was gonna say it, but I was trying to play nice. That's probably from the 40k miles in 5 months

You don't need slotted rotors either, what are you doing going through brakes like that? I dd mine and I have 63k miles and I've had it since I bought it new in 01 (brake changes coming in spring btw)
I am driving it hard. Just a lil. It sees redline everyday. I love to go out on the back roads and open it up which presents a few problems with blind curves, animals, and traffic. I also tend to race it a fair amount.
I use to drive a truck for the phone company. All I did was drive for 5-7hrs a day... I never got close to 40,000miles in 5 months. Thats insane, and start driving safe you're not on a damn track.
If you are going through rotors then I would ditch the cryo treated slotted. Autozone rotors are the cheapest, and have a 2yr replacement warranty. Cheap and easliy changed is your best bet.

I disagree
haha
I think most people would suggest Mugen 1st, Comptech 2nd and AEM as the 3rd one
Anyways, you got to clean your R man. It looks really bad in its current state.

It still has the factory rotors at 74k. They have a hellacious pulsation though. Once I get them hot it pulsates even when I'm not braking. As for the dirtiness of the car, 70hrs. a week workin don't leave much time for cleaning especially once you factor in a girlfriend and a party.

Please clean up the poor baby! Other than that, nice car! take good/better care of heR
