Default How often do you hit OMG VTEC

Just like the question says. I read these honda forums and everybody is just so vtec obsessed. How often are we in vtec?

I can't tell you the last time I was over 6k on the streets. Track is a diffferent story.

So yeah maybe once in a bluemoon i give her juice getting on the interstate.

You guys must have 0 traffic in your area's. Here in DC/Md I have to hit vtec everyday just to survive . And i still get 28mpg avg to a tank

Given the current oil consumption... not much at all. Only when I need to leave in a cloud of coverage.

I only drive the R like once a week now and the whole night Im driving it Im usually ripping through gears. Usually go "cruising'' with about 3-4 of my friends and there isn't any traffic at night where we live so we can have a bit of fun. Nothing like a 06 Gt mustang, 03 cobra, 02 Z28, and 00 ITR romping around town making lots of noise haha.

I only drive my car once every few weeks, and when I do, I make it count. I usually drive around for 20 minutes or so just to get the oil circulating and than head down to a specific twisty country road close by me. Than it's ON! Every shift is at redline. Follow it up by a good 15 minute cool down drive, and we're done for a few more weeks.

Now if my battery would just keep a charge ..... that's what happens when you let it sit in a garage for weeks at a time

All the time. When you drive a 63 horsepower CRX HF as a daily, you get the itch for Vtec the way a crackhead would for crack.

HAHAH Larkin, man exactly. I feel the exact same way. Drive the slow, not-so-fun beater to and from work for so long you just need to get in the R and open her up every once in awhile.

And by "Speed Hole", I mean rust hole. Makes a good vent system for my 7" drum brakes and 13" wheels

dam you all have some really beat up beaters haha.

I rock a 98 CRV everyday of the week. I'm thinking I might have to drop a B16 head on it and some ITB's and call it a day haha

SICK!

Yeah, I waited a while for that kit to come in ... came about the same time as my coefficient drag reducing Dent kit I have on my doors, as well as aerated windshield, half height pinch-bent antenna, supersonic rear wiper kit (goes so fast you can't even tell it's moving!), and uber rare JDM vibration enhancing motor mounts!

My ride is dope

I just thought about this. My daily has vtec too lol. POS 94 accord (auto). I don't think you can hear it if you get on it, if its even engauging.

Multiple times each time I drive it...vtec at ~3,500 with a JDM Final Drive means that it kicks in pretty quickly...and now that I'm daily driving a '94 DX hatch, yeah, I use vtec a lot.
