Its just one of those unfortunate things that happens this time of year. Santa Ana's kick up and with the drought goin on there is a ton of fuel for it.
Its not unusual, but this year is exceptional because of how dry everything is.
I wish all the best to those down there !!

Well, its better then the midwest by far. I can't say for the far east, but I imagine we are one up on them to. Don't even get me started on the south...

It's the only down side
And if it gets too bad i'll go to the beach.
And besides, people are riding their motorcycles still, no down time for us
No stupid winter keeping us from our bikes.

It's true. I am sitting here at work right now (grave-yard for the suckage), and my bike is 100 feet away from me physically, or about 4 feet in front of my face on one of the cameras.
It is clear, with almost no breeze and a comfortable 52 degrees at this time (0221 hours), with an expected low of 47 degrees. It should be a beautiful commute home in the morning.
Hopefully the fires calm down for all of you down there. I am supposed to go to Six Flags Magic Mt. on Haloween, it would be a shame if the fires prevented this (and more of a shame for the people displaced by the fires). Stay safe my Southern CA co-riders.

while I do keep a residence at ETHS, I don't usually inform the public of that little factoid. I think the community would frown upon me having a bed chamber in the woman's locker room.

i live in rancho bernardo, a little community in san diego, which was an area that got hit really bad. about 6 of my close friends have lost their homes. one of my neighbors got past the police barricade to check out our street and found his fence on fire and put it out to keep the whole street from goin up. somehow the fire stopped about 30 yards from my house (thank god for iceplant) but i heard some fires were coming back so im not sure whats goin on. im just thankful all of my friends and family are safe and i hope everyone else's family is safe. i hear the whole area looks like a war zone.
