Hey guys.... quick question.... I am looking to purchase the JDM Type R Rear Strut bar, but I want to make sure that it actually improves something on the car....do you guys think it is worth it to purchase or a waste of money? Any help would be great. Thanks!

it for lack of a better way to put it, makes the whoel car fell a little more connected. I have the Mugen one which goes straight across. I didnt want the JDM or SPoon one because tey go up and then over which IMO creates a flex point. But Having something will fell better than nothing.


And I hope you will be at summit point to do some racing with that car this weekend...

Its just a track weekend. It should be both days. I wont be running since I didnt register in time. Im just going down to see people I havent seen and meet new ones. Should be a good weekend. If you come on sunday look for a group of 3 ITRs Yellow, Black and White. Then look for 2 Mugen wings... Thats the IPS camp. Or should I say IPS Mafia

Got it on? Installing it now. Unpainted Good thing its white and so is the car, won't stick out too much.

You should also consider a 23 mm JDM rear sway bar. It really helps in stiffening the back of the car and reduce understeer. I don't know if you found somebody who as a JDM rear strut bar in stock but I have been waiting for mine for three month. Apparently it is on back order like crazy. I finally gave up and change my order to a JIC unit. Cusco also makes a good one.

 

With stock suspension and street tires, I don't think it would make a difference. Street tires would probably be the limiting factor rather than the chassis stiffness.

 

JDM Tower Strut Bar did not help for me. I couldn't tell in an auto cross.


As for a thicker Swaybar, (i.e. Comptech's Tie/Swaybar combo), i noticed such a difference in an AutoX that I spun out

I had snowtires on my car and I could feel the difference with the Mugen one. I havent had any experiance with the JDM one
