p72 and p28
I have two ecu's sitting here. i have a gsr swapped 2000 civic with aftermarket exhaust, intake and intake manifold. on the p28 ecu it is socketed by age engineering and says {stlye- skunk2 ECU Type-p08,p28,p30,p61,p91 Vtec X-over- 4800 Rev limiter 9,000 rpm} then I have a stock obd II p72 ecu. I bought the p72 cuz I was told the car would run better and get better gas mielage. so Im asking what should I do? the p72 needs a jumper harness becuase one connector isnt the same but the other two fit fine. the p28 ecu has a jumper harness becuase i think its obd I. but should I just get a new socketed program or keep the p72 and also why doesnt the p72 just plug in and play if they are both obd II

OBD-IIb was 99/00, OBD-IIa is 96-98
For all intents and purposes they're the same, but the plugs are different, which is why it's probably not lining up.
Don't look for "extra" basemaps - just look for stock ones. So your best option would be to either:
A) Plug the P72 ECU in there
B) Have the P72 STOCK basemap (without them dicking with VTEC limits and such) burnt onto the P28's chip and you can just plug that in there.
Either way, because your motor is stock, for optimal performance both power wise and economy wise - it'd be smart to keep the OEM ECU in there, whether it be the P72, or the P72 map on another ECU.
