Well first is the vin number:

JH4DC231cySnnnnnn

1=Vechile Grade
1=Type R
4=RS
5=LS
6=LS with moonroof
7=GS
8=GS-R

Second if its a 97 or 98 it should be white. 00 or 01 should be PY or Black. Things to look for are 5 lug, b18c5 stamp on the motor, ITR interior. Some of the major things.

unless someone has cut a hole in the roof and fitted their own sunroof, then yes its fake

Type-R's NEVER came from the factory with a sunroof. makes the car more top-heavy and kind of defies the point of having a Type-R

There are a few Type-Rs that had sunroofs installed, I've seen one in person on a '97, and the install looked fine. Looked OEM.

Now the install on my EF... Ewwww... Just make sure it's done right if it is done.

Look underneath the vehicle from the back. If it has the tie bar, its most likely an ITR.

This is all that matters. Anything else could have been modified since it left the showroom. If the VIN begins with that^^, then it's a real ITR.
