Default Fine wire wheel, for paint removal???

Trying to strip the paint off my wheels and paint them, I know this isn't the right forum but....

I need painters advice. Is there a fine enough wheel to not damage aluminum enough to strip paint and primer off? Used aircraft remover but its just not doing the job.

theres acutally a type of pad/sandpaper that you can use on a buffer.. paint remover or cleaner something like that... its like using 40 grit sandpaper and it takes paint right off.. cant remember what its called but i use it at the shop all the time.. works good and fast!

I personally wouldn't use 40 grit to strip paint, especially on a large grinder...you can warp the metal easily if you're not carefully. Plus that may be a bit hard to use when stripping wheels. I would use paint stripper or get them sand blasted.

I found a small wheel to use with a drill at sears for 7 bucks. bascially a roll of sand paper, 60 grit. It gives enough to take the paint off without messing up the wheel itself. It's going to take a bit of time to get everything off, but the chemical stripping is terrible, id rather do it like this then use that crap anymore. It just wasnt taking the stuff off. 2 coats and 4 hours later nothing really came off.

it gets down to the primer well, but the primer is tough to get off, so I'm just smoothing it out and re priming the old, and hopefully it'll work. doesn't have to be perfect but I'll keep the results posted.
