Default PowerCoating JDM ITR

I just bought a set of jdm itr cw 16s. the condition is fine for it being 10 years old. it still has the original paint. If i decided to powercoat these rims would it add value to them or not? Would it matter if i powercoated them gunmetal or cw? would people give me less if i sold them, knowing that i had them powercoated?

thanx in advance

Depends on what you paid for them to begin with.

I don't necessarily think it would "add value" to them, but I'm sure it'll improve their appearance. Keep in mind that it's going to be nearly impossible to exactly match either the Championship White or the Kaiser Silver OEM finishes, unless you have the powder coating custom mixed (which I believe requires a large quantity purchase).

I hate you

Where did you get them done? B0XY's bead-blasted-then-rattle-canned GT wheels could use a refreshing.

I powdercoated mine a custom color and no I didn't expect them to go up in price as a result.

dont expect that to be super profitable if you paid a premium for the wheels, however if you spent 100 on the rims, and 250 to powder coated them for a total of 350 then you can prob make some money.

however, how much rims sell for is depending on how clean they are, sure id rather have a brand new set of oem gunmetal 16" itr's over a set of powder coated ones, but id rather have flawless powdercoated ones rather than beat up oem ones,

another problem is if you want $$$ you need the oem center caps to match perfectly
