Default H22 head building?

Ok so I have a h22 stock other than headers/cai looking to get some numbers out of it na. Got the money to do whatever but I was thinking about doing a head build with cams. cam gears, valves, retainers, springs. Then upgrading my intake manifold and fuel rail, then tuning it with a hondata or some other ecu. Any ideas on who to use for parts and ecu?

skunk2 pro1 cams, valvetrain, and a p28/crome will get you good bang for the buck

just hog out the factory intake mani and get rid of the secondaries. skunk2s2's w/ valve train, cam gears, hondata, bored tb, flat valves

Once I get all the parts in and installed by a mechanic, is the car drivable or do I need a tune shop to install them and then do a tuning before being able to drive? Also is doing a VAFC and a hondata or a p28 overlapping? Waste of money?

no need for a vafc when you have hondata. pending on the cam, the motor might not even run correctly without a tune.

if you have a stock bottom end i wouldnt even dream of the Pro3s hehehe my 12:1 compression wasnt cutting it except on the bottom and in torque....but after vtec is completely nose dived....

i would suggest the Pro1s or even the pro2s if you plan on upgrading anything else in the future.

dont waste your time and money on VAFC

if a shop who can tune is building your head i would have them tune it at the same time assuming they are also installing the head.

While youre at it you can have them at LEAST gasket match the ports on the head if not have them go more and clean up the flash marks all the way thru. 3 angle valve job if your getting valves and depending on mileage might think about some bronze guides to refresh....lil things like cam seals and new valve seals of course!

id always reccomend tuning after major engine work. type-s or stage 1 cams are acceptable to drive to a place ot have it tuned...but you dont want to mess anything else up along the way so play it safe and have fun!

i guess my 13.5:1 97mmx87mm should feel at home with the 3's. or maybe rm super cams.

honestly thinking about it you might be better starting with a great header ....smsp/six sig. that alone will increase your power dramaticlly.
then a pro intake manifold and throttle body
tune with p28 with crome.
stock bottom end pro'3 are far from the best choice.

deffinately an SMSP or DTR/SSR header a good intake mani i wouldnt suggest skunk mani for the street or stock compression....either go with one of ours or a euro-r

alterd....youre 13.5:1 is exactly what the pro3s are thirsty for!
