Default y5 to y8

Hello i been thinking about switching my y5 to y8 and then boosting the y8, not sure though have some unanswered questions like, Can i keep my ac if i boost the Y8, because it gets crazy hot down here in the summer and i like to enjoy myself when i drive, also how much hp would i expect, i want to daily drive this thing and i want to keep its reliability to 100 %. Thanks sorry for once again another newb question.

The Y5 is actually better for boost than the Y8. VTEC has a lot of valve overlap so it just blows boost right out the exhaust. Not the worst thing in the world, but not exactly optimal. VTEC-E will help you spool up faster if it does anything at all, and the Y5 roller rockers certainly wont hurt.

Get yourself the Y8 tranny though. BIG IMPROVEMENT.

get it compression and leakdown tested to determine the condition of the motor. if that turns out good then go for it. i just boosted my y8 which has 144,000 miles on the clock.
