Default Dyno tuned and feeling meaner than hell!

Hey, don't flame me for this but I was just wanted to thank you all for all the help and advice that was given to me about me car regarding the whole bent valve situation....

Got the head, valvetrain (still need to free up college money to get CAMS), header and full exhaust on now and it finally got dyno tuned yesterday...... I didn't get the graph or anything because I let the shop do it and I should of asked for one, but it made 193whp and 171w-ft/lbs on a dyno that is known around here to read VERY low (not a single built H22 has made over 200whp yet, most moderately built ones make around 168whp).....

Truthfully, I have never seen an NA Honda four-cylinder have SO much low end on it. It probably feels a bit comparable to Pirate's ******* awesome G23 hybrid motor down low.... The curve I was told is more of a plateau with a peak where VTEC "rolls" in instead of "kicking" in at around 4500rpm..... Without the necessary cams to keep up with the increased airflow of the head, top end power peaks at 6800rpm from feeling it and you upshift around 7100rpm to get back into the fantastic midrange...

Thus far I still have the stock 15's with all seasons, and just to give an idea of the midrange that the guys got into it..... Rolling into the throttle in 1st gear around 2000rpm and suddenly flooring it (while never touching the clutch pedal) will break the tires loose throughout all of first practically, then when second is slammed it spins a good amount in that gear..... yesterday it was also taken to a track, where it posted 14.6@98mph (I'll get a more detail time for you all later), but was nearly impossible to launch without doing a burnout... Even at 3500rpm.

Looks like its time to get full suspension and some LSD THAT WORKS lol.....

Thank you all again, you've been a great help with advice.

stock h22 making 171 ft lbs?

post a dyno graph......

get yourself some drag radials or slicks, your wasting your time at a drag strip with street tires and any remote amount of power.

dont worry about the power being low based on other dynos

i made 176whp and 137 ftlbs and ran 14.0 at 97mph on slicks. Your mph is the biggest predictor of the power you are really making.

where is your peak torque? how far are you making power?

The stock lsd works, and I'm glad it feel great, now you know why we all say to tune, lol.

BUT, pirate's engine is an exception to the rule dude, there's no chance your h22 is making anywhere near the tq his does, but nonetheless I'm sure it feels good.

my old setup would roast potenza s-02s through third if I wanted it to, just learn to modulate the throttle some

Congrats.

Bah, that's a typo.... its 141w-ft/lbs... My bad lol. I'm having the tuner send me a copy of the dyno sheet also.

LOL and I said a "bit comparable".... Pirate's engine has to be ******* spectacular by any stretch of the imagination if I feel that mine feels damn good for what it is.

All I know is that the midrange feels beyond spectacular. The VERY strong pull seems to fall off around 7000rpm or so. There's no VAFC/P13 anymore... I'm now running a dyno-tuned P28. Due to the stock cams, power peaks at 6800rpm and torque is around 4800rpm (around where VTEC rolls in) and I ran that time shifting around 7200 or so. The engine more or less is no long peaky at all.... It feels really strange being able to dip into the throttle and it just pulls so damn good, perhaps like its a six-cylinder..... I've ridden in a few tuned Honda's and only the super built one's felt around this strong midrange wise.....

Now all I need to get that pull from falling out up top, is to definetly get some cams in the very near future.....

with a shot that you cant use to its potential...lol

post a dyno chart man. If you think your motor is strong now, have someone tune part throttle and feel the difference there......
