Default d16z6 swap in a 90 crx

Well i just bought a 90crx and my friend just swap a gsr in his eg coue and he said he would sell me the full swap: motor, tranny, axles , and all accesories for 500 bucks I was just wondering what else I would need to do this swap and if there was any upgrading I should do to optimize the full potential of this swap. but he is not selling me the ECU so I know I will need a p28 and a jumper harness for OBD0 to OBD1 conversion but what else.

Hey hey,
Well i am 99 percent sure the z6 will go in with almost no mods, will have to use ur dizzy and wireing harness unlesss u want to do a few wire changes and what not. Vtech controller and what not also, as far as the mounts, it mounts up directly and will mount to the crx si tranny. Can use old intake or new intake doesnt matter but using old would be easiest imo. Really only thing u need is head and vtech controller and u are set.

it really depends on what trim you have most of what the guy above me said is true.

you need

-motor
-ecu
-tranny if u dont wanna use yours but you will need a hydro to cable conversion if you use the new transmission.
-and a converion harness to oboII everything else is transferable.

Everything bolts up perfectly, just do and obd0 to obd1 harness conversion... wai a minute... is it dpfi or mpfi? if it's a dpfi you'll have to conver to mpfi with obd1 conversion if it's mpfi then you'll just need an obd0 to obd1 conversion harness and to save a lot of time and money, don't go with a cable to hydro tranny conversion, it's a D series, just get a D16A6 Si (EX 4 door sedan) tanny and you're set. Short gears for faster acceleration. The usual L3 long gear trannys sucks. It would be no point in the swap. So do as I say, obd0 to obd1 conversion harness with an Si (D16A6) tranny. Have a great day and good luck in the swap, also, tell your friend to drop the swap price down to 350 or so because you don't need that tranny.

you also need to use the drivers side mount bracket from the motor in your car. an EF Si tranny would be the best to use.

There's a guy in Riverside, CA on Ebay, he makes harnesses for whatever car and motor you'll be using, and he also gives you a direction sheet with his harnesses. Best thing is that his prices are very affordable and the harnesses are very clean. Looks as if it came straight from the factory. Look him up on Ebay, monotech909 is his username. Just tell him you need a harness for "year, make, model and what kind of engine and ECU" you'll be using. Save a lot of time and money if you get an already converted harness from him. Trust me, you'll thank me for the advice. Don't do it yourself if you don't know what you're doing, you may f*ck somethin' up, like short out your ECU or something, learn from my experience bro. You won't spend nomore than 200 shipped for a harness from him, he made me one for 150 shipped and it saved me a whole lot of time and confusion.

Why? Because DPFI harnesses have only 2 feul injectors and MPFI has 4.

You would have to do an obd0 to obd1 wiring harness conversion with VTEC and you should stick with the z6 mannifold because it's bigger for more flow.

you can run everything that came on your stock Si, everything except the distributar. You have to cut the ears on the stock distributars and use big washers on the bolts to hold it on the head. Then you can chip your pm6 ecu, http://www.xenocron.com sells chipped pm6 ecu's at a pretty cheap price and you can also sell your old non chipped one to him to make it cheaper. Then any FREE program like TurboEdit which has the 1 wire vtec capability with the 12v source coming from the AC plug on the ecu and being run straight to the vtec solenoid. Done!

http://www.boomslang.us has a conversion harness that will convert to obd1 and to mpfi. if u have the z6 harness already why not go obd 1 already. thats the conversion harness that i got and its really very little wiring involved.
