Default Anyone running BG Synchroshift?

What do you think of it? I have had it sitting in the garage for 6 months now, thinking of using it tomorrow Just wanted some feedback.

is this the same as the GM synchroshift? if so its waaaay better than honda mtf, i bought some at my local chevy dealer (same stuff used in vettes) and i think it performs way better. ive tried 10w40,redline mtf, honda mtf, i would put the honda stuff and a very good 2nd though....

I think the general opinion is that there is no good reason to switch from Honda MTF. It is excellent stuff.

All I have ever seen are the local DSM guys run it. Seems to perform very well for them in both auto-x and drag...

Don't use it!!! I switched to it about 6 months ago and my gearbox is fubar'd right now. All gears are very notchy and the synchros don't work nearly as well. I thought it was only because of the cold weather, but now that summer is here, I know it's the transmission fluid.

Stick with Honda MTL or you'll be sorry later!

I put some in at the beginning of this summer to replace the Redline MTF I had. It works very well, no grinding or anything. I shifted several time at 9000 rpm and it went in as smooth as the papa in the mama.

It sounds to me like there's something wrong with your tranny and it's not the fluid.

honda tranny fluid is straight 30 weight motor oil
I cant run it cos of the Kaaz
disc type LSD cant use it or they will slip way too much
I have a few BG synchro shifts and I know alot of DSMers run that
I dont know if its compatible with my diff or not
I run the Lakewood fluid for disc type LSDs
hth

I have been using it in my 00 si for about 15k miles and it is great. I used to have some slight grinding and this took it away. It is very smooth and gets even smoother once it is warm. It also can handle the high temps if you drive the car hard for a long period of time. I have 3 more bottles waiting to be used once i need to change it out again. Oh yeah, mine is bg sycroshift 2 formulated for front wheel drive cars if that matters, not sure if there are multiple kinds of the stuff. hope that helps.

I put it in my 00 Si about 8K miles ago and it took away that notchy tranny feeling. I'd reccomend it.

Castrol GTX 10w-30 works great! Was using Honda MTF but had synchro trouble so switch to Castrol and problem gone. I was told that MTF is to thick and has problems with high rpm shifting so with the with the lighter oil problem gone. BTW, the sychros were fine, very little wear.
