I'm with Tyson, a hammer is best because it works every time and if you choose a higher quality ratchet, like Snap On, then the proclaimed easiest methond is not always and option.
a 3lb mini is the way to go for sure as far as being the easiest....
i how ever, would prefer to put a crow bar or pry bar between the lower part of the nuckle and the lca and pry. the tighter you can wedge the pry bar or crow bar in the easier the BJ will pop. try stuffing the pry bar in and stomping it.. that ALWAYS works.

I don't quite understand what you mean "if you use Snap-on this is not the best method." Are you talking about you using too good of tools that you don't want to break them? Have you ever broke a snap-on tool? In my life time (which isn't long by the way) I have only seen a handful of snap-on tools break and when the Snap-on guy come to the shop we give him the tool, he says "How the hell did you break that?" and he gives us another one for free.
Not even He-man himself can break a Snap-on tool

I was kinda hitting on two points there. One that the pic showed a crapsman ratchet (which i used to like until they started putting rocks in thier ratchet heads)
All of my ratchets, Snap On or Matco would never work in the way shown, the handles are simply too big and have rubber or plastic outer grip.
The other point is the improper use of a tool(5 points removed for the first one who make a tool joke) is not recomendable in my opinion, and especially not on a $120+ dollar tool.
Not even HeMan?....
Back when working on Honda's was my way of life, I broke Matco tools on a weekly basis. The Matco rep wrote a letter to headquarters recommending me for product testing.
Snap On isn't so bad, but our Snap On guy was a Strap On guy by night and well frankly he just freaked everyone out. But I managed to get a good little collection of Snap On tools, mainly ratchets, sockets and a set of wrenches.
I've broke 2 of the 3 Snap On ratchets I have a combined total of 6 times, 2 of those times the handle gave out the rest was the gear mechanism. That number is nearing 7 as CRX Toad notified me of an issue with the ratchet upon letting him use it a few months back.
So now that I've totally hijacked this thread, I'll give it back, and not recommend putting a big pry bar in there an jumping on it. That's asking for a injury whether personal or to the car, something about a cv boot and a tear comes to mind.

i have always used this gear puller, works most of the time. but if you do buy the harbor freight one i recomend that u change the bolts with higher grade ones, ive had the OG bolts snap and fly off.
