in my own opinion get the whole longblock
its better to have the original heads and block togheter.....
Z6 head with A6 block it sgood but not as good as the whole **** togheter....

i have the entire d16z6 swap, used everything from the civic, intake manifold, dis. everything, even got a p28 ecu, ran the crx Si tranny. so nice. stayed with a 5.0 mustang the other night with only a cheap intake and cat back exhaust. i love it.

uh, I'm gonna call b.s. on that one, or maybe the 5.0 guy couldn't drive. sohc vtec civics/crx's are probably in the low 15's. 5.0's can run mid 14's stock. I have a D16y8 with a catback and p28 ecu, and it's quick, but not that quick. BTW I'm also running the y8 intake, t-body, etc...

I'd say depends on how strong your bottom end is. If you do go complete, you can give me that old Si motor

Yeah, but how many carburated 5.0 mustangs are stock?? I used to be into mustangs, and I know just how easy it is to make them run hard. Bolt on a 650 cfm Holley, headers, exhaust, and possibly cylinder heads and boom. Low 14's! There's not too many around either, It's quite likely that he raced an injected one. the carbed ones are slow though, stock: you're right: 16.3 in the quarter mile for an 82 5.0 GT

why would you want to do the whole motor swap? just put a y8 head onto the si block and you will have higher compresion and more bottom end power to go with the top end.

bc if u wanna stay on the good side for turbo por any boost.... with the stock Z6 long block u keep the 9:2:1 compression wich will be lovely and good to run 5-7 psi boost safe with stock internals.... a A6, Y8 combo raises u to about what>?? 10:4? something like that.... and still the lower comrpession better turbo response.... peace

calling b.s. huh? whatever. it was a older model. like a 90 i think. had and intake and flowmasters. i had my friend "shawnD" in the car with me. he is on ht too, just ask him. my engine is strong, i just rebuilt it, lightened flywheel, excedy clutch.. i still lost, but from 10mph-70mph....i only fell back about 6 ft. i have no reason to lie.......o, and racing an integra tonight, i caught it just right and barked 4th as i hit the break in concrete at the bridge?
